Dermaplaning | Eliminate Facial Hair & Gently Exfoliate | InSkin Beauty Salon

Dermaplaning Perth

Dermaplaning is a technique used to exfoliate your skin and help to remove fine facial hair commonly known as peach fuzz.

Why we love this treatment…

The results of Dermaplaning are immediately obvious, your skin will look smoother and fresher. Some of the many benefits of Dermaplaning include;

  • Removal of light surface wrinkling

  • Improvement in skin texture

  • Help to even skin tone

  • Remove blackheads

  • Smooth acne scarring and;

  • Help with more effective product absorption.

  • While traditional shaving is performed with a razor, dermaplaning is performed using a sterile surgical blade. Razors do not deeply remove dead skin cells like a dermaplaning surgical blade does, and hairs growing back after shaving with a razor will tend to be thicker and darker.

  • Contrary to popular belief, your facial hair will not grow back thicker or darker after dermaplaning. Dermaplaning removes vellus hair (also known as peach fuzz) at the skin’s surface, and as such cannot change the structure of the hair follicle. Rest assured your peachy fuzz will not grow back any thicker or darker.

  • When you book a dermaplaning treatment at InSkin Studio, you’ll also receive;

    • A light enzyme peel and;

    • A hydrating mask to finish.

    To further boost your results, you may choose to add a session of our favourite Healite LED light therapy to your appointment.

    At InSkin Studio, we provide dermaplaning in our pristine Perth skin clinic, alongside our curated selection of other dermal therapy treatments.

Dermaplaning Aftercare

One of the biggest benefits of dermaplaning is that it has almost no special aftercare requirements! However, we always recommend you treat your skin with special attention after any dermal treatment, especially when exfoliation occurs. We recommend the following easy aftercare steps:

  • Use a clean pillowcase, face towels and makeup brushes to avoid spreading bacteria to your freshly exfoliated skin

  • Avoid excessive sun exposure for 24 hours, and always wear SPF

  • Do not have other clinical treatments such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion or IPL on the treated area for 3-5 days

  • Avoid using active products such as topical steroids, retinoids, AHA’s, BHA’s or any other exfoliating agents for 24-48 hours to avoid any irritation, re-introducing them back into your skincare regime as tolerated

  • Use protective, nourishing moisturisers and serums such as Ultimate Recovery, Hydra B5, and Fast Skin Repair
